A nice Jungle Het Square Tail. The colors on these guys are coming up nice.

Hello, I have been back from all the Late summer and Fall reptile shows.  We attended a lot this year.  I just got back from Snakeday Holland and had a good time seeing and meeting a lot of different people.  We have a lot of people ask about our Breeding Video, and we had to put it off by 1 month. We start our breeding in November and December.  The Video should be out in the January 7, 2013.  We still have just a few segments to rap up and talk about the very beginning of breeding.  After that I should have copy’s for sale online and hard copies as well.  We will also have Boaconstrictor.com inventory updated and changed. We will give the front page a new look.  You can purchase the video online from the page or download it as well.  We also have the Boaconstrictor.com facebook fan page.  Please go “like” this link if you have not already done so.  This will allow you to follow some of our posts and see some animals for sale in package deals that will not be on the site.  We will integrate the two soon.   I hope everyone has a great Breeding Season this year.  There will be some amazing looks to the Boas and the Balls in 2013. Thanks, J

Baby Boas 2012. A good mix.

Hello, I just wanted to give a lot of news quick.  We have been very busy with the summer.  I have been doing less posts and videos because we are trying to get our Video For Sale on Keeping and Breeding Boas launched by October 1st.  We have had a very busy June and Mid July.  We only have 2 Boa litters left for the season and that will be it.  Our Ball Pythons have been hatching and we are busy setting them up.  We will have an Updated List on Boaconstrictor.com of most our Available Boas for the year.  Right now we are getting with a lot of our Wholesalers and larger customers for some of our Package deals, but we should have a good updated list of Boas for the 2012 year.  The Balls will be coming in later and we will keep the website updated.  Facebook is always crazy and people like to contact me there.  I am building a Boaconstrictor.com fan page and we will have that up shortly and we will put up animals and specials for sale there as well.

Some Nice Jungle Motleys and Salmon Jungles Het Albino

I am happy with the Season we had because we produced a Ton of Variety.  We had a Jungle Het PD litter where we got 3 Jungles and 1 normal and some slugs from a smaller, but the Babies were huge, and they are awesome.  We also had a Motley litter and the Babies from that female are UNREAL.  That will be it for PD.  The rest will be up to his Children. We had a few VPI litters, some insane Jungle and Sharp stuff, and a some great Combos with the Arabesque.   We are looking for a few projects, and we will be able to offer some trade this year.  If you have some good animals, let us know.

I will be trying to keep the pages together soon and link them.  With youtube, facebook, and the page, it is hard to juggle them all, but the Best way to contact us for info on Rare Boa projects or anything available is through the Boaconstrictor.com contact form.

I have a lot of good footage so I’ll put together a few shorter videos.  I have been doing shorter private videos for some of our customers on Rare stuff when they are purchasing orders.

I hope you all are enjoying the Hot Summer Weather.  Have a great Week. Jeremy Stone

Jungle Motley PH Anery/Blood Boa. Born 6/1/2012

With the Busy summer ahead, I won’t be able to do as many Videos.  I will try to get one up every 3 to 4 weeks, but I’m doing certain small videos to organize Boaconstrictor.com better with a good video description of cool morphs.  We have had some fun litters the past few weeks, and I have been able to get a lot of good footage.  We are saving the video footage and some of the goods to keep for our Boa Constrictor Keeping and Breeding video that we hope to have for sale be the Fall.  We will have the Website updated by the first of July with all the newer animals we have for sale.  We have sold a lot of our litters that we have had to certain buyers around the country and world.  Since we are having a slower boa year, we will be slim on inventory, so if you see something you like, please send us an email.

We have a busy schedule planned. I will be in Hamm,  Germany this weekend  June 9th.  I will be staying at the Mercure and have an extra room if anyone needs one, let me know. Mike Wilbanks and I are going to do some travel together and I’ll be near his table.  I’ll help him unpack and set up so his crew can get some rest. Please come by and say hello.  I am excited to see many friends over there that share the Reptile passion. There are some INCREDIBLE Reptiles in Europe.  It is a Short trip, and I’ll be home on Monday.  Josh will be here to take emails and orders, and my wife is going to help coach Zack and Jackson’s little league games while I’m gone.  I hate missing a Dodgers Game.

Albino Jungles Born 5/24/2012

There are a lot of projects that I’m trying to work on. This week we had a litter from a Jungle het anery het blood CA bred to a Hypo Motley pastel Boa.  I think this will be a great gene in the future, and I knew they would look really cool.  The parents are both very nice Boas.   My goal with this is to strengthen up the Super Jungle Gene (I love the looks of the Super Jungle). With these being 3/4 is Colombian, I think the CA will help the jungle gene, but it is just a fun project.  Jungle, Blood, and Motleys and Hypos/anerys, all in one is a cool route to go down the road.

I will be discussing in the Videos on how to get Boas a certain size and why.  We got a lot of questions about my last video.  I’ll have to explain more about raising and life span in the next few sections. Also, yes, PD is doing fine. We won’t have babies until July from that project.  This will be the last year we will have HETS available.   We are also hatching out some ball pythons.  We are going to have a solid year on the Balls.  When you have a downer Boa year and resting females, it is nice to have Ball pythons help keep your spirits up.  When both are in bad seasons, it is hard to stay positive.    I hope everyone is going to have a Great Summer.  With my kids home from School I can tell I’m in for a long summer.  🙂     To contact us please use the Contact form on Boaconstrictor.com  Jeremy  Stone

Kara with Diamond

Here is my latest Youtube Video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hy6xpaIc90&list=UUf4xotO6nkSX2jP3dqWhB8w&index=1&feature=plcp

In this Video I talk about my decision to Retire The Adult White out of the Project.  Here is what this means.  After 2012 season, we will not have any 100 percent hets.  Next year Poss hets and maybe a few whites can be sold.  We had no intention of breeding the Diamond to his Daughters Directly.  That would not be good for the bloodline down the Road.  White Projects with balls have seem to always go WAY better with Hets, and than unrelated Whites to Hets.  I will do the same down the road.  I need some different out crossed White Bloodlines, and we hope to have those in 2013/14.   In July we hope to have 2 litters from the Diamond.  We stretched him far for the past few years.  This particular animal is a different breeder from common Males.  He will breed with a LONG dance and a ton of movement.  He will go NON stop, and he seems to drop weight VERY fast.  He does take breaks, but when he breeds, he really gets a big workout.  I know that if we stretched him another season he would be Dust, and I can’t allow that.    The people in the project have been happy they know there aren’t going to be “Hundreds of Hets”.  Way less! I do what I say I’m going to do.

This also allows us to focus on lots of other Boa and Ball Projects.  I really don’t Mass Produce Boas.  I never want to have more than 50 litters in a Year.  With that we carefully would add 70 females to the rotation, and that is the MOST I would ever want to do.  It doesn’t help the market, and it also requires more work, feed, shipping, etc…  So, with the Diamond not being the ONLY project we focus on, we feel comfortable in working our Projects and doing a great Diamond project.  I am sure some of my customers will probably even produce more Whites than i will down the Road, but I just want the Best Bloodlines, and some CRAZY animals, and I’m good. There is good group in Asia and I’m excited to see how well they will do as I wish them luck.   I also do take Marketing into account with the Project.

There are some amazing other Boas out there, and some that will command a LOT of attention in the up coming Months.  Not having much with the Diamond project allows me and others to focus on some High end Boa morphs, and the market will continue on.  The Princess Diamond is just piece

Working in the good Weather.

of the Boa Revolution that we will see in the Future.    I have tried to keep the Diamond project VERY RARE, and it is something I have a passion in.  We have not had a litter over the Size of 19, but our babies have been FANTASTIC and large babies from the girls we selected.

I will discuss more soon, but I wanted to get to the next few things going on.   We will have video descriptions to update the boaconstrictor.com site.  We will describe morphs and combinations.  We will add and link  them to our youtube channel.  I will have lots of shorter clips coming up soon. Make sure you subscribe to the channel if you want an email when I have a new video to show.

Next Blog Topics:  Breeding Video.  Raising Boas with only feeding weekly never two meals.  Life Span statistics, and more. Will we Unveil something “Rare” like the Diamond soon??  In the next few years we hope so!!!!!  Crossing Fingers…

I got a lot of good questions, and I’m trying to give straight talk in what to expect when breeding boas.    I’m Coaching Jackson’s Dodger Game tonight.  It honestly is one of my Favorite things to do in the World.   GO DODGERS!!!

The Good and the Bad When working with Live Animals.

Little Russel Shark Facts

A bunch of Boa Goodies

Here is my latest Youtube Video.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVS6BPmCoI4 You have to take the good with the positive with when you work with Live animals. This week I show a loss of a female I had good hopes for of the year in my youtube video.  You win some and you loose some.  If you stay positive at what you, you will have much greater success than you will failures.  In my Video, I show the death of a snake, and a little bit about what happened.  She died of a Twisted Ovary that caused an infection.  You can see this, and a little break with the kids.  I’m coaching Jackson’s little League team this year, and our first game is tomorrow. I’m excited about that.  I have to manage 13 kids on the team.  It is a lot of fun.

Back to work.  We will be adding more shorter videos in our Channel that I’m going to be linking to the Boaconstrictor.com site, so if you see a video, make sure you subscribe to my channel to get updates on the next video.  I’m going to showcase the Jungle Motley VPI’s in a nice Boa Video.  Also, we are going to have some other Reptiles with Josh, and maybe take little Russel to see the Shark set up Josh has.  He’d Die.  No babies this week.  One litter of SLUGS.   We do expect it to be more of a Summer Season, but we are also having a very positive Ball Python year.  It seems when you have one down year with one, the other makes up for it.  I’m really focusing my Boa collection to a Fine tuned collection as you always have to get newer things and different bloodlines.  I’d rather not Mass produce and focus more on refining my bloodlines to many key projects.  In 2009, we had 73 litters.  That is something I don’t think I can do agian for a few years. I could do it, but I  don’t think I ever will again.  It’s too much work.  If you break it down, that is like a Boa litter every 3 days, but they all come in just a few months.  I’m looking forward to a Litter coming up in the next 2 weeks that may be something very cool I have been working on for 7 years.  Fingers Crossed. The Mom isn’t big.   I hope you have a great week.    Jeremy Stone

2012 Has Started..

with one comment

A mix of Colors and Motleys.

I have been so impressed with all the Boas that are being produced.  It is great to see other people make INCREDIBLE morphs that have been keeping the Boa dream alive.  The Boas have taken a big Hit with market and the law threats, but those who stayed patient have been making some of the most amazing animals.  If you could look back just a few years and see where the Boas were. They were always evolving getting better as more morphs and genes pop up. However,  the NEW generations of Boa morphs we are starting to see have been very been inspirational, and I’m happy to see it.   I was excited to talk to a few other breeders that are excited to see all the new stuff for 2012.  One Larger Boa breeder told me we are going to see a “Boa Revolution” as he unveils new and amazing projects yet to be seen.  It’s excited and refreshing.  I’ve been working hard on Boa and Ball morphs over the years, and I have learned a ton especially with Boas.  The future is going to be VERY BRIGHT.  There will be a Boa Revolution evolution.  I can’t even name all the Boas that have me excited as I think of some new projects I need to get this year.   With Boas you just have to be more patient.  You can’t take a Male and breed it under one year of age like I have been able to do with some Ball Morphs. I have been seing some insane Boas in Europe, Canada, (too many countries to mention) and in the USA in forums and facebook.  Projects that have taken years are starting to unfold, and it is exciting.

On a Side note, we started the season this year with some Cool Sunglow Jungle Kahl albinos.  We struck out on a few other early projects, but I am waiting for the majority of my litters in June/July that will be exciting.  I have a

2012 Sunglow Jungles.

few litters in May and Late April, but I will not have a HUGE boa year, just a refined group with many fun projects I want to work with.  No more than 35 litters.  We will have about 6 good key VPI litters, and a lot of other odds and ends.  We only will have a few Central litters as we gave many of them a rest.   We have sold out of 2011 Diamond Babies, and hope to have one and possibly two litters in July, the other one is a Slugger.   I stretched him to 3 females, and it just was too much.   I am going to be looking to add a few Boa Morphs to the collection as I see many of these animals I can’t take my eyes off.    So, with an Average Boa year, I’m excited about many of the Ball Python Clutches we will have and Make this year.   I’m working on the Breeding videos, and I hope they will be creative and informative.  I have a few videos coming up next week.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.   Jeremy Stone

Getting Ready for The Baby Season

Motley and Hypos Het PD from May 14, 2011 Litter

It has been awhile since I have posted.  The Industry has gone through a Big Shock since the new FWS Rule Change.  We have had some major accomplishments and a few set backs.   I do occasionally write about it in my facebook, and I have been using that and youtube as a blog, but I want to let things settle and give updates on important Law info as I can that applies to our Industry.  I am feeling Positive, that doesn’t mean we can rest.  Because of all the negative Press, I am excited to work with other breeders on a few projects that will have a POSITIVE information about the Reptile industry, and facts about Reptiles in general.  This will be very cool, and I will have to BLOG a lot more on the Boa Constrictor.  I’ll mention that later.

Image

VPI T positive Jungle Motley and Bloody Jungle 2011

We have been very busy.  With Shipping Reptiles, breeding, and keeping all the animals fed and healthy, it seems to never end.  Each year seems to go by faster and faster.  Last week we shipped over 300 animals to Canada, and that is a lot of stress.  The animals got there, all the paperwork, inspections, and flights are worth it when you have a happy customer.  We plan on going to the June Hamm Show, and we are thinking of doing a Canadian Show, Chicago, Anaheim, San Diego, and one or two more for the year.  I have to try to plan it well because that travel is very expensive.

It has been an interesting breeding season with Babies due any day.  We will have a medium sized Boa year, and it’s looking like a good Ball Year.   I have a few key litters I am hoping for, and the rest just kind of falls into place.  We do the Best we can, but on average I get about 50 percent of what we try to breed.  So, if I breed 50 females, I usually plan on 25 females plus or minus 5.    I will never breed more than 100 female Boas again. Three years ago we had 73 litters, and it was WAY TOO MUCH.   It is too much work and your focus gets taken away from a lot of other stuff. 50 litters a year in Boas is more than I can Handle.   I hope things are going well.  We will be taking questions off our Youtube Video Comments because I can never get around to answer those, and we will answer common questions through our Channel on Youtube.  Here is the latest video we did, and we will have another next week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx4tO1Mgh6o&list=UUf4xotO6nkSX2jP3dqWhB8w&index=1&feature=plcp

Have a great week. Jeremy Stone
